André M. Carlsen assists clients with financial family and inheritance law, estate planning, probate and litigation. He has more than 15 years of experience and often assists in connection with succession (wealth) planning by preparing marriage agreements, wills, cohabitation agreements, and lasting powers of attorney.

In the event of separation and divorce, André assists with financial settlements, such as division of marital property, separate property issues, unequal division of the marital estate, and settlement between cohabitants. In many cases he handles, significant values (family and business fortunes) are at stake. He has experience with cross-border issues, such as cross-border estate planning and financial settlements, as well.

André has considerable experience with inheritance law disputes, such as disputes due to invalid testamentary dispositions, invalid wills etc. He has previously worked as a generalist lawyer, giving him a unique overview of family and inheritance law issues that require an interdisciplinary approach.

His court experience includes being a deputy judge and a law clerk at the Norwegian Supreme Court’s Legal Secretariat. He regularly litigates cases before the courts.

André is also an expert in matters under the Children Act (parental responsibility, permanent residence, and visitation).
