André M. Carlsen is the head of Bull's Financial family law and Probate and estate planning group, specializing in family and inheritance law, dispute resolution and litigation.

André has over 15 years of experience as an inheritance and divorce lawyer. He has specialist expertise in financial settlements following separation and divorce (division of marital property, questions about separate property, unequal division, and settlements between cohabitants), as well as with inheritance disputes (reverting values to the estate due to invalid dispositions, invalid wills, interpretation of wills, invalid dispositions in undivided estates, etc.).

André previously worked as a general practitioner and has extensive experience with family and inheritance law issues requiring interdisciplinary expertise in contract law, real estate law, administrative law, corporate law, international law, etc. He has special expertise in cases where significant assets (family wealth, corporations and other business activities) are at stake.

André has diverse experience from the courts as a lawyer, deputy judge, and law clerk in the Norwegian Supreme Court’s Legal Secretariat. He is an experienced negotiator and regularly litigates cases before the courts. André is committed to giving clients clear advice on what can be achieved by taking cases to court. He regularly takes on assignments to provide second opinions and assess litigation risks in disputes where a party is considering court action, appeal, etc.

Over the years, André has assisted a significant number of families with advice and implementation of succession and the protection of family wealth, including the drafting of marital and cohabitation agreements, wills and springing powers of attorney.

André is also a children's rights lawyer, with over 15 years of experience and expertise in cases under the Children Act (parental responsibility, permanent residence and visitation). He emphasizes giving clients in custody cases clear advice on how to deal with issues that typically arise in such cases.

André places great importance on being available to his clients. He assists clients and takes on litigation assignments across the country.
