Bull strengthens its commitment to sustainability and climate – Cathrine Hambro new partner
Cathrine has 25 years of experience in advisory and dispute resolution within environmental law, climate, waste, and sustainability. For several years she has been a business lawyer for many industrial entities and the waste and recycling industry specifically. This has given her extensive experience dealing with public authorities in connection with permits and rule interpretation. In addition, she has worked extensively on issues concerning ground pollution.
In recent years, Cathrine has acquired in-depth expertise on climate law issues, especially through her work on the first, highly publicized climate lawsuit in Norway. It was decided in the government's favour by the Supreme Court in plenary in 2020. The case is currently being evaluated by the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
One of Cathrine’s roles in Bull will be to help create an awareness of the many legal and strategic implications of the global focus on sustainability and circular economy. "The required focus on sustainability and circular economy is continually being defined through legislation, society’s demand for prudent business practice, and the entities’ own goal-setting," says Cathrine.
I am pleased to see that Bull is highly committed and willing to invest in the build-up of expertise within my field, Cathrine Hambro, Partner.
She looks forward to the opportunity to further develop this venture along with her new colleagues, and she strongly believes that this adds value for customers, both strategically and in business operations generally.
Cathrine is also strongly committed to her profession and the community. She is a member of the Norwegian Bar Association's Committee for environmental law, in addition to being editor and co-author of environmental and energy law literature. Prior to Cathrine’s arrival here, she was a partner in Wahl Larsen and a partner and lawyer in Schjødt.
We are very pleased that Cathrine wants to take the lead in our commitment towards sustainability and circular economy, Tine Wærsten, Bull’s COO.
Cathrine is well known within environmental law, climate, and sustainability. Her expertise is relevant to many of our customers and is strategically interesting for Bull," continues Tine.
In addition to environmental and climate law expertise, Cathrine also has considerable experience in the preparation and negotiation of domestic and international contracts. At Bull, Cathrine becomes part of a sizable and competent specialist environment within all business law disciplines and dispute resolution.
Helping clients achieve their business goals is very rewarding to me, Cathrine Hambro, Partner.
This often requires expertise in several areas of the law," she continues. Bull is growing, covers all business law disciplines, and has a skilled set of associates and lawyers. I look forward to being a part of it all," concludes Cathrine.
