The press – printed newspapers, online newspapers, TV and radio etc.

In some instances, we assist operators in the press, such as newspaper publishers, online newspapers, radio and TV broadcasters. In other instances, we represent operators that believe they have been offended or advise them on rights they believe the press has violated.

Ever since one of the company’s best-known partners, Fredrik H. Winsnes, wrote about the Norwegian press laws in the 1930s, Bull & Co has dealt with issues related to the Norwegian press and media.

We assist among other things with:

  • Copyright, permissions and news coverage rights
  • Infringement of photographic copyrights
  • Libel, slander compensation claims
  • Violations of privacy
  • Use of personal photos – the right to photo ownership
  • The right of access of the press
  • The Ethics Codes for the press – Exercise care circular (Vaer varsom plakaten)
  • Norwegian Press Association (PFU) cases
  • Plagiarism cases
  • Other privacy issues
  • Freedom of expression assessment ratings
  • Protection of sources
  • Dispute resolution and litigation
