Sign up for the Nordic Employment Law Seminar 2016
23. november 2016 - 24. november 2016
This is the seminar for you working with HR within the Nordic Region or with responsibility for HR in the Nordic Region.
For HR professionals working multi jurisdictional, it is essential to have up-to-date knowledge and awareness of the differences that exists in your region of responsibility – even when the mentality and work place identity in the region is as relatively uniform as in Scandinavia.
Rules and regulation are not uniform.
Having professional responsibility within large organisations requires cultural and legal knowledge at your fingertips. You are the expert. People within the organisation rely on your advice. And they expect you to be able to provide the basis for correct solutions – even for the parts of the organisation which is not your home country.
Two intensive days of teaching in selected topics within Scandinavian employment law will enable you to compare and distinguish between the differences in some of the most practical day-to-day employment law topics, equipping you with the skills to identify the rules applicable for the daily challenges and provide solutions for each country in order for you to make decisions when it matters.
The course program will be focusing on:
- The ordinary course of employment – grievance procedures, warnings, performance improvement plans, holiday, how to handle sickness absence, maternity and parental leave and changes to the terms of employment
- Incentive based pay – bonuses, commission and share based incentives. How to adapt global rules to local regulation and areas of particular importance
- Work place policies – working from home
- Termination procedures, restructuring and reduction in force – how to chose who to lay off and termination entitlements and strategies
- Summary dismissal
- Mandatory trade union involvement at the work place
- Work place cooperation
- And other practical topics

Testimonial from participant in previous NELS course:
«I participated in the Nordic Employment Law seminar 2016 which for me was a great seminar where I could dive into the details. There are more differences between Danish, Swedish and Norwegian Employment Law than I thought. And to be able to grasp the details is the key for a successful employment law work despite the country you work in. As a swede who uses employment law on a very regular basis I thought «I knew it all» but this seminar gave me some very nice pointers also into the Swedish employment law for me to use in the future. I strongly recommend any HR Manager / Generalist / Business Partner who works on a Nordic level to attend this seminar. It will help you in your future endeavors.»
